Kelsey-Seybold Pediatric Ophthalmology
Providing Personalized Pediatric Eye Care
Eye health is extremely important to all people at every stage of life, but it is critically important to a developing child. Your child's vision affects how he or she perceives the world, as well as learns about and reacts to the world. Parents now have access to a board-certified Pediatric Ophthalmologist at Kelsey-Seybold’s Main Campus near the Texas Medical Center, the Spring Medical and Diagnostic Center in Spring, Texas and at the Fort Bend Medical and Diagnostic Center in Sugar Land, Texas.
Early Detection – Early Correction
For vision problems and other childhood eye conditions, early detection is key. Physicians can often correct certain issues such as amblyopia, commonly called “lazy eye,” when the condition is caught early enough. Children with astigmatism or blurred vision due to myopia may have learning difficulties at school, which can slow their normal intellectual progress. The caring professionals at the Kelsey-Seybold Pediatric eye departments in Houston, Spring and Fort Bend have the resources and knowledge to diagnose and correct your child’s vision problems.
Dedication to the Highest Standards
Kelsey-Seybold founder, Dr. Mavis Kelsey, established a tradition of excellence in health care services at his Houston clinics that has persevered since its beginning in 1949. An emphasis on continuing education for physicians and other professional staff has helped ensure that the physicians and other health care professionals are up-to-date on technologies and treatments in their specialties. Parents can count on Kelsey-Seybold physicians to be familiar with all effective treatments and procedures for both abnormal conditions and routine preventive care.
Communication and Accessibility
With Pediatric Ophthalmology services at three convenient locations, in Houston, Spring and Fort Bend, parents can access specialized pediatric eye care services close to home. The Kelsey-Seybold staff focuses on personal communication with patients. Parents can speak to a Kelsey-Seybold Clinic professional in person or by telephone during regular business hours. After hours and on weekends, parents have access to Kelsey-Seybold’s After-Hours Nurse Hotline where parents can ask questions and have their concerns addressed at any time by Kelsey-Seybold’s registered nurses.
